We operate two mining complexes located in Northern Appalachia consisting of one company-operated underground mine and two company-operated surface mines. For the year ended December 31, 2015, these mines produced an aggregate of approximately 0.9 million tons of steam coal. As of December 31, 2015, we controlled an estimated 23.4 million tons of proven and probable coal reserves and an estimated 84.7 million tons of non-reserve coal deposits in Northern Appalachia.
